You don't copy footage into a project and then hunt for the good bits. Insert the card and Earwig sees it straight away, and automatically syncs it to the markers your phone logged on set.

Earwig auto-detects the camera card the moment it mounts. Already offloaded? Point it at the folder instead.

Build the timelines

Selects cut on your marked words, a Cutaways reel, and an All-Markers timeline — in a dated bin with Footage and Timelines folders.

Where to find it in Premiere: open the panel from Window ▸ Extensions ▸ Earwig Sync. The card-scan lives at the top of the sessions list.

How to install

One installer script. About two minutes.

  1. You'll need Premiere Pro 2024 or newer on macOS.
  2. Download the panel above and unzip it.
  3. Right-click Install Earwig Sync.command and choose Open. macOS asks once because the installer comes from the web rather than the App Store — Open runs it. It switches on Adobe's setting for panels installed outside the Creative Cloud marketplace and copies Earwig Sync into Premiere's extensions folder.
  4. Earwig needs ffmpeg (a free, standard media tool). If you don't have it yet: install Homebrew, then run brew install ffmpeg in Terminal.
  5. Quit and reopen Premiere Pro so it picks up the new panel.
  6. Open it from Window ▸ Extensions ▸ Earwig Sync.

How to use it

From card to a built timeline, inside your open project.

  1. Sign in. Use the same Earwig email as the phone app — hit Verify & sign in. Your sessions load down the left.
  2. Insert your camera card. Earwig scans it automatically and shows which sessions it found footage for. Already copied the card to a drive? Point it at the folder.
  3. Pick your shoot session from the list. Check it over in the Markers, Transcript and Paper edit tabs — every marker with its timecode and the line that was said.
  4. Hit Build selects + cutaways + markers. Earwig automatically syncs your footage and lays the timelines down in a dated bin in your open project, with Footage and Timelines folders.
  5. Just want markers? Mark clips (no timeline) stamps your markers onto the clips themselves and skips the timeline build.
Everything stays on your Mac. Your sign-in is remembered between updates, so you only do it once.
