Data Processing Agreement

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Draft. This page is awaiting review by our solicitor. Anything in square brackets is still to be confirmed.

When a production company or a freelancer records interviews with Earwig, they decide why and how that content is used. They are the controller, and Earwig is their processor. Under team and production plans, the production company is the controller.

UK GDPR Article 28 says a processor must work under a written contract. Our standard Data Processing Agreement covers what we do with your content, keeping it confidential and secure, the sub-processors we use, helping you answer requests from the people you record, telling you about a breach without undue delay, and deleting or returning your content when you ask.

The agreement is being finalised with our solicitor. Until it is published here, you can ask for a signed copy for your production by emailing privacy@earwig.io. Tell us the company name and who should sign.

Who processes what, and where: see our sub-processors. How we protect it: see security.
